All the songs on this album are self penned which is always a good sign in my mind as the band are actually not relying on the standards we all hear too often. This album gets off to a fairly lively start with the title track a solid rock n roll and cars song seems to be aimed at the Teddy Boy rock n roll market, its solid enough.

There are a couple of strong tracks on here Cracked Dash returns to the car theme 4 In the Morning rumbles along and the instrumental The Big Kahuna which is a nice modern surf romp.

However overall I found that the album just lacked a little sparkle, just when you think the band are hitting there stuff it slows down Booze and Doom and Die Hard cases in question, I like bands that can vary their sound and pace but a couple of times these are a minute or two too long and my attention wandered.

However the last track a little Western Swing style duet is a good little tune and has good lyrics

No doubt there is a good band in here waiting to get out but the writing needs to be sharper and a little more energy injected at times.

Ted Stevens plays stripped down, straight up roots rock and roll out of Sarasota florida. Stevens is on the road over 200 nights per year supporting his latest "Dead End Dragstrip" CD.

Ted Stevens and the Doo-Shots are an energetic trio mixing up old school rockabilly, surf, and roots rock with plenty of reverb and train beats to go around...Their live show is energetic with plenty of dancing, drinking and crowd interaction to get everyone involved!...
