Ok so first off I must say that this recent release from Part is actually a reissue of two classic albums from this US band that was at the forefront of the US revival scene in the early 1980's.

They recorded these tracks for the now ledgendary Rollin Rock label with Ronny Weiser. To put these into context they were stable mates of such artists as Ray Campi and Mac Curtis.

This set is great stuff and takes you back to that time when rockabilly was jsut emerging from being a forgotten and misunderstood genre to when it would again hit the charts and begin to receive the merit it deserves.

The sound throughout is bright, loose and vibrant, guitars sparkle with light riffs over a steady and pronounced bass backbeat, snare drums rattle nicely, the vocals are shared between Ravenna and her male counterpart nicely. A good mix of their own numbers and well chosen covers. Hoghlights include Rockabilly Fool, Changes all those Changes and the quirky Hot Pink Cowboy Boots a strong version of Lonley Weekends withfemale vocal adds a twist to the standard. Wrapped up with a great version of Mack Self's Vibrate.

There are in all 28 tracks on the album that provide a great retro spective of this band and in fact the uS scene at that time.

Sadly Freda Johnson aka Ravenna passed away in 1996, this collection stand as a very excellent musical legacy however brief their time as band was.

This is a must for anyone who has an interest in the sound of the 80's scene or in fact those that just want to hear high energy rockabilly played for the sheer fun of it.

Great sleeve notes are included giving a history of the band.
