Ruby Dee And The Snakehandlers are finally in Austin, TX! Finally getting settled in and rarin' to go, so they have got a new Austin-based rhythm section in the chamber and now ready to fire for our European Tour next month. Mr. Leslie McCurdy on bass and Jordan Teitelbaum on the drums lay down the rock solid foundation forhonky-tonk shenanigans ala snakehandlers.

The music in the new Cravendale Milk TV commercial in the UK is performed by neo-rockabilly Hungarian band The Prison Band. They are doing a cover version of the Restless song, "My baby is a hotrod". The Prison Band album has been released by Vampirette Music of Germany and can be bought from Nervous Records.

Freddy Frogs has died at 66

Ferdinando Toscano, more known as Freddy Frogs, died of a heart attack Tuesday while visiting his sister in Vero Beach, Fla. He was 66.

Frogs and his doo-wop, rockabilly and swing projects played everywhere from Max's Kansas City in Manhattan to Mirelle's in Westbury.

Country music legend, Hank Locklin passed away at the age of 91

Country singer Hank Locklin, whose smooth tenor voice on
hits like "Send Me the Pillow You Dream On" and "Please Help Me I'm Falling" marked a career that spanned half a century, has died. He was 91.

Locklin died Sunday at his home in Brewton, Ala., Grand Ole Opry

Patrick Ouchène to represent Belgium at Eurovison in Moscow

Patrick Ouchène from the band Runnin' Wild was selected by Belgian broadcaster RTBF to represent Belgium in the semifinals of the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow. Ouchène will sing the song Copycat, a song about Elvis Presley in English.

The two surviving members of his in-studio backup trio known as the Picks were honored by Texas lawmakers with a resolution Monday.

Austin guitarist Paul Skelton, the twangmaster of the Telecaster in the Cornell Hurd Band for 22 years, died Sunday morning of lung cancer. He was 55.
