Monte Hale, one of the last of Hollywood's celluloid "singing cowboys" and a founder of what is now the Autry National Center of the American West, has died. He was 89.

No more foreign artists in UK!

The Home Office introduced new restrictions on international artists and academics visiting the UK for talks, temporary exhibitions, concerts or artists' residencies. Visitors now have to submit to a series of arduous and expensive proceedures to get their visa, and then more bureaucratic controls when they are in the UK. Already a series of concerts and residencies have been cancelled.

Here is very sad news for rockabilly and rock 'n' roll fans everywhere. Rocky Velvet will disband after Saturday's show toningt (21 March) at the Midway Cafe in Boston, MA. They will still play some festivals, but regular gigs will stop. So if you want to see their whole two sets show, you still have a chance.
