Patrick Ouchene (from Runnin' Wild) is already in Russia, preparing for Eurovision Song contest that will be held on 16th of May. The reason is not to learn Russian and Russian culture, but meet friends and make extra shows in Moscow and St-Petersburg. Singer-songwriter Vern Gosdin, who achieved mainstream country success in the '80s with hits such as "Set 'Em Up Joe" and "Chiseled in Stone," died late Tuesday (April 28) at a Nashville hospital at age 74.

Yesterday, 28th of April 2009, member of the band of Fiddle & Steel Guitar Bar, Brian Steele, was killed in an accident as he drove his motorcycle. He died doing something he loved to do, but all of those who came to know and love him for his easy smile, wonderful drumming and selfless friendship are left with this deep loss in their hearts.

Pat Lucas, a tireless advocate for people in poverty, and one-time country music sensation Bobby Helms have been voted into the Monroe County Hall of Fame.
The two were picked from 10 nominees on ballots in The Herald-Times and on HeraldTimesOnline.com. Helms was the highest vote-getter, with Lucas finishing second.
