Miss Mary Ann & The Ragtime Wranglers just released a Cd single 'Boogie Woogie Santa Clause'.

This 3-track CD contains a rockabilly version of the title track, Miss Mary Ann's own boppin' novelty "Thank You Santa Claus" and the crazy powered-up twin-guitar instrumental "Sleigh Ride".

Ike Turner dies at 76

Rock'n'Roll pioneer Ike Turner died yesterday at his home near San Diego. He was 76.

After years of obscurity, Turner was on a comeback trail of sorts.

In February, an acclaimed blues album won him his first Grammy in 35 years, and he had been collaborating with producer Danger Mouse, one-half of the pop-soul duo Gnarls Barkley.

Rosanne Cash will undergo surgery

Country singer / songwriter and the eldest daughter of Johnny Cash Rosanne Cash will undergo brain surgery at a New York hospital.
Rosanne is expected to make a full recovery and will return to the studio to complete the recording of her debut album 'Black Cadillac' for Manhattan Records.

Oklahoma Music HOF inductees announced

The Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame announced its 2007 inductees this past week. This yearís inductees include Cal Smith, Sammi Smith, Tommy Crook, Hoyt Axton, Mae Boren Axton & Hinder.

Cal Smith will be inducted in the country music category. His hit songs "Country Bumpkin", "The Lord Knows Iím Drinking" and "Itís Time to Pay the Fiddler" were No. 1 hits in the 1970s.

Musician Gary Primich dies at 49

Country music legend Hank Thompson will be honored in his hometown, where he will perform with the Brazos Valley Boys at 5:30 pm on October 8th at The Heart O'Texas Fair in Waco. Governor Rick Perry and Mayor Virginia DuPuy have declared October 8, 2007, "Hank Thompson Day" in The State of Texas and in The City of Waco.

Bo Diddley released from hospital

Bo Diddley has been released from hospital after a significant improvement in his health.
The legendary guitar player was admitted to hospital in August after suffering a heart attack and had a stent inserted to improve blood flow.
"With his health greatly improved, Diddley is happy to be home with his family and away from the hospital food," spokeswoman Susan Clary said....

Lee Rocker on tour
