The Goodguys are betting that the Atlanta area will eventually be a good location for a major hot rod and custom car show.

The Pleasanton, Calif.-based Goodguys Rod and Custom Association, which boasts a national membership of 70,000, is hosting the second NAPA Southern Nationals at Atlanta Motor Speedway on June 13-15.

Rock 'n' Roll Pioneer Bo Diddley dies age 79

Blues & Rock 'n' Roll legend Bo Diddley had died aged 79.

He had suffered a heart attack in August 2007, three months after suffering a stroke which affected his ability to speak.

His "Bo Diddley Beat" has influenced countless rockers, and his classic songs include "Bo Diddley", "I'm A Man", "Who Do You Love" and "You Can't Judge A Book".

Jerry Cole died Wednessday (28th of May, 2008) night at his home in Corona, California. Jerry's wife, Gale, was with him when he suffered a massive heart attack. Jerry was 68 years old and is survived by Gale and their daughters, Monique and Katrina, and son, Cane. Jerry's other son, Keith, died just a year earlier at the age of 28. California-based blues singer Candye Kane underwent a very complicated surgery for pancreatic cancer last month.

Candye Kane's April surgery included a procedure called "The Whipple", which took her under the knife for nearly nine hours. Kane awoke happy to be alive and reports that she starting to get around.

A stretch of West Tennessee highway — one starting in Carl Perkins' hometown — could soon honor the rockabilly music he helped invent.

Part of U.S. 45, from Jackson south to the Mississippi line, would be known as the "Rockabilly Highway" under a bill that has passed the state legislature. It's now headed for Gov. Phil Bredesen's desk for his signature into law.
