Voodoo Rhythm Records is about to be closed

Voodoo Rhythm Records is in a big troubles. Even though they are saying that they have treated bands very fairly and have given them their records for cost price, the SUISA (Copyright Company, musicians' union) doesn't believe anything of it unless it is in writing. So it demands payback of a total of 42.500 Swiss Franks (roughly 38.000 US $). Basically they want money for productions...

Buddy Holly Documentaries on radio and TV

The documentary of final tour of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens & The Big Bopper airs on BBC Radio 2 this Sat 31st at 7pm. It will be presented by Steve Harley and kicks off a "Fifties Season", which Radio 2 are running. Later that week are two other Holly-related documentaries.

Noise control - no more live music in UK

It has been brought to attention that new noise legislation is about to be introduced that is likely to virtually destroy live music in the UK.

The government wish to consider it a legal requirement in the new tax year to introduce laws insisting anyone applying or re-applying for an entertainment licence must have a noise control device fitted to the venue.

"Rockabilly Baby," a film produced by Timber Creek productions, received nominations for Best Drama and Best Actor (Denton Blane Everett) in the Trail Dance Film Festival, which was recently named Top 25 Film Festivals in Movie Maker Magazine.
